I had very low expectations for the day, he was acting strange, wouldn't go for a walk and was stressed in the hotel room. What a great surprise. This was only the second event we have attended in years where I felt that he could handle the guns. He did great and I was ecstatic to the point of tears. After almost 5 years of training, it was simply fantastic to see that he could win. | ||

Was actually tied for 4th but tie goes to younger dog and baron was the oldest dog there. He did great with the hunting/find where on June 14 he lost points in this area.The extra training in this area over the past 2 weeks apparently helped.However today he dropped the bird on a retrieve (had it by the neck and got a better grip) and he refused to go into the water where I had to give 3 commands to get him go. This was highly unusual for him, not sure what went wrong. Now I need to focus on his no-go issue and to find some real ducks to train with. He was uncomfortable with the duck in his mouth. | |
